Take Your Child to the Library Day
The 3rd annual Take Your Child to the Library Day, scheduled for February 1, 2014 (or any day in February) is a relatively new chance to promote public library usage by families. The program began two years ago in Connecticut and has spread nationwide; check out this list of resources which includes posters, bookmarks, and other materials: http://ctlibrarians.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=59 .
The California representative for this national program is Cen Campbell. She is compiling a list of libraries that are participating, and is offering prizes of Bookboard subscriptions. Be sure to check out Cen Campbell’s blog, Little eLit at: http://littleelit.com/2014/01/07/were-celebrating-take-your-child-to-the-library-day/ for all the details. It could be a great opportunity for fun library programs, too!
