Pride Day
Pride Day, to celebrate the LGBTQ community, is held in June, and makes a great theme for storytime.

Genhart, Michael. Rainbow: A First Look of Pride. Children from a variety of families and cultures describe what each color of the rainbow flag symbolizes.
Lil Miss Hot Mess. The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish. Based on “Wheels on the Bus,” this interactive read-aloud encourages the audience to move and sing along.
Lil Miss Hot Mess. If You’re a Drag Queen and You Know It. Based on “If You’re Happy and You Know It,” this celebration of drag will inspire the audience to sing along and perform the movements.
McClintick, Joanna. ‘Twas the Night Before Pride. Modeled after “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” this focuses on preparations for Pride Day.
Neilson, Emily. The Rainbow Parade. A little girl describes marching in the Pride parade with her two moms.
Pitman, Gayle E. This Day in June. This rhyming story celebrates the Pride Parade.
Stevenson, Robin. Pride Puppy! An alphabet book about a family who temporarily lost their dog at the Pride Parade.
