Mouse finds his favorite chair occupied by Bear. The chair is not large enough to share. Mouse attempts to lure the bear from his chair by using various tactics. Collins brilliantly blends text with endearing digitally-created illustrations, which feature a graphite pencil outline on the characters over a colored background. The white polar bear pops out on the various pale backgrounds as well as on the bright red spread when the mouse loses his temper. A few wordless spreads emphasize the dramatic shift before the satisfying and clear conclusion.
