Programming Ideas: Making Musical Instruments
Making musical instruments is a great theme for a Do It Yourself hands-on program any time of year, but it will work very well with the 2023 summer reading themes of Find Your Voice from iRead, and All Together Now from CSLPReads. Here are several crafts and activities you can do on this theme:
Games and Activities
Karaoke Station: If you have access to a Karaoke Machine, have a station where participants can sing their favorite songs!
Name That Tune: Play the popular TV game Name That Tune. There are several board game versions you can try, including:
Instrument Petting Zoo: Invite a local music teacher bring in several instruments to show and demonstrate.
Musical Chairs: Divide attendees into age groups so the participants are close in size and ability. Then play the classic game: How to Play Musical Chairs: 11 Steps (with Pictures) – wikiHow.
