National Book Awards 2024: The 2024 National Book Awards were announced on Nov. 22, 2024. The winner in the Young People’s Literature Category is Shifa Saltagi Safadi for Kareem Between (Putnam, 2024). Seventh grader Kareem deals with football tryouts, helping a student who is a Syrian refugee, and missing his mother who is stuck in Syria due to an executive order.
