Great Summer Reading Lists from Mary Ann Scheuer

Mary Ann Scheuer wanted to share the summer reading suggestions that she has made. These include the reading levels that many school districts use (Fountas & Pinnell). While she used these levels as a guide, she thinks it’s important to have broader bands. She also estimates where new books fit within this general framework, and often asks literacy coaches for their opinions. If children are not sure of their reading levels, these will help because the lists have book jackets and other cues to help them decide if a book is a good fit:
