Author Marjorie Weinman Sharmat Dies at Age 90: Marjorie Weinman Sharmat, best-known as the creator of the “Nate the Great” series of beginning reader books, has dies at age 90. She wrote more than 130 books, for children and teens. “Nate the Great” began in 1972, and the first 20 in the series were illustrated by Marc Simont.
